Once onboard with SmartSmith, every student receives much more than regular tutoring sessions. The goal is to build understanding, confidence, and long-term success through a structured, personalized program.
World Class Online Tutoring App
Every lesson is delivered through ClassIn, a professional online classroom built specifically for education, by educators. Unlike a standard video meeting, ClassIn allows us to write on shared whiteboards, solve problems together in real time, annotate diagrams, share resources, and create a truly interactive learning environment. For mathematics and physics, it's one of the most effective online teaching platforms available.
Personalized Learning Plan
Every student begins with an individualized plan based on their current level, goals, school curriculum, and examination schedule. No two students follow exactly the same path.
Customized Lessons
Every lesson is planned specifically for that student. Rather than working through a generic textbook or problem set, lessons target the concepts that will have the greatest impact. Other factors I take into account are the classroom atmosphere, teaching style of the teacher, and anything else that will help me tailor my tutoring style to the student's learning style.
What Happens in Lessons
This is completely up to the student's needs. For some, we might do their homework together. For others, I teach them the material. And still for others, we might work through past AP or IB exam problems together, or study for an upcoming test. I have been teaching long enough that I can pivot instantly from one style to another, depending on the student's needs. This is a skill that only comes with time and experience.
Detailed Lesson Notes
After every lesson, I post a PDF of the entire lesson on the main ClassIn chat - everything we have worked on the board, all documents, images, etc. A student always has access to anything that is posted there, so it makes it easy to go back and review a lesson later. These documented lessons become a personalized study guide throughout the year.
Practice Problems
Should they ask for it, students receive carefully selected practice problems to reinforce each lesson and prepare for upcoming assessments. These come from any number of sources - past AP or IB exam problems sets are often very useful for this.
Between-Lesson Support
Questions don't always happen during the lesson. Students are welcome to email questions on anything between sessions and receive prompt guidance whenever possible. My goal is to respond to every student within 24 hours during the school week.
Monthly Progress Reports
At the end of each month, parents receive detailed feedback including:
• topics completed
• strengths and accomplishments
• areas needing improvement
• recommendations for the coming month
This keeps everyone informed and ensures steady progress. Parents are also provided with a pdf document of each and every lesson through the month.
Long-Term Planning
Whether preparing for IB, AP, or school examinations, every student follows a structured, long-term learning plan designed around their goals and exam schedule. Rather than simply reacting to upcoming tests, I help students build a strong foundation while ensuring there is ample time for comprehensive review before exams. Careful planning reduces stress, builds confidence, and leads to stronger long-term results.
